We are....
The Tea and Biscuits!
After a great weekend camp in Pinsent in Winchester Unit 11, have since become The Tea and Biscuits. This was voted for over the Tokyo Tigers. Now that we have our identity, we can start to design our own group identity with neckers, badges and any other clothing which you guys feel you would want!
On the Friday were finally joined by our fellow 8 scouts from Guernsey. This evening was very relaxed – putting up the tents and getting to know each other better.
We started Saturday with a near disaster at breakfast due to trying to cook with propane and then flag break to create a formal start to the weekend, where scouts who had not attended the November training day got given their UK contingent neckers. Then we went on to create our Code of Conduct (C.O.C) all the things on this have been produced from talking in groups and will be sent out soon for all participants to sign.
We were then later joined by Joe who is from Alderney after his flight was delayed due to fog. Then we started to plan initial name and badge ideas with some very interesting designs!
An idea to practice our group photo was so that we would be able to arrange ourselves quickly for a photo to save time in any situation.
The afternoon activities included crafts where the scouts were able to decorate their own chopsticks, using para-chords to create bracelets and woggles and origami cranes.
Dinner was chicken and rice which was then eaten with the chopsticks which has been decorated and after we had our bonfire with magic and chants.
Sunday was decision day! The name created a heated discussion between 2 clear favourites for the name – but in the end The Tea and Biscuits won. Then we all got to work designing possible badges. These will all be taken into account when choosing which to have.
The weekend got rounded off by a practice interview with the leaders to prepare us all for any situation which it may be needed, but a few more practices may be needed for this!
· A little bit of homework for you set by Christine – Come up with something more catching to be called when the leaders want to get your attention!
· Keep your ideas coming for the badge and Necker
· How many solidarity badges do you want?
· Are you in the facebook group yet? Do you follow the twitter?
